I’ve been crazy busy digging through the mounds of trash at the SF Dump and have found some amazing gems! I’ve begun drawing and am so excited about the things I am learning and the direction my work is going!!! For now, I will give you just a peek of a few of the items I have collected and a view of my studio space as it begins to fill up.
Here are some amazing images of Chinese artist Liu Bolin. He is an inspiration for his originality and skill. In these images, he paints himself into the background and literally becomes part of the landscape!
Here’s a quick inside view of the Dump, just before I go in to scavenge. Feels a bit ominous, but I’m still up to the challenge of seeking out treasures and inspiration to put on a great show in less than four months!
Hey All, I’ve begun my residency at the SF Dump and have already been inspired by the people who work there and by the items that I have found to draw! The feel of the show has begun to form in my mind and I am anxious to prep surfaces, begin drawing and find more incredible stuff!!
Here’s a hint of things to come – some items I may use, others will never make the cut. There’s also a video in the works that will be on view at the show in January and will be linked to my site and blog afterwards!!
Check back periodically to see new images of my work and experience digging through the trash with me!
This last image is of a beautiful garden that sits basking in the sunshine in the back lot.
